The clinic is temporarily closed. We are currently closed and not taking new clients until mid-October / beginning of November. Julia Lott is recovering from knee surgery and expects to welcome new and returning clients around that time. The appointment request form will reopen closer to her recovery.

Myofascial Release

Slow, sustained pressure into tight muscle and connective tissue to release restrictions and restore pain-free movement.

A practitioner applying sustained pressure to a client's shoulder.

Myofascial release is a safe, effective hands-on technique that applies sustained pressure into contracted muscles and the connective tissue around them.

Fascia (from the Latin word for band) wraps everything in the body: organs, nerves, muscles, blood vessels, the brain and spinal cord. When it tightens or sticks, it can pull on structures far from where you feel the pain.

The aim

Treatment works to relax, lengthen and realign fascia, muscles, ligaments and tendons. Through trigger point release, tissue work and breaking down adhesions, the goal is healthier muscle function and a greater range of pain-free movement.

Everyone responds differently. Manual osteopaths don't diagnose conditions or prescribe medication; see the frequently asked questions.
