The clinic is temporarily closed. We are currently closed and not taking new clients until mid-October / beginning of November. Julia Lott is recovering from knee surgery and expects to welcome new and returning clients around that time. The appointment request form will reopen closer to her recovery.

Manual Osteopathic Treatment

A firm, yet gentle, hands-on approach that looks past the sore spot to the way bones, muscles, joints and fascia work together.

A practitioner's hands working along a client's lower back.

Manual osteopathy is a non-invasive therapy with a firm, yet gentle, hands-on approach. It rests on a simple principle: your well-being depends on bones, muscles, ligaments and connective tissue (fascia) working smoothly together. The aim is to restore function and ease pain by looking for the root of the problem, whether that is pain, imbalance, injury or illness.

Treatment doesn't concentrate only on the area that hurts. Julia uses manual techniques and specialized tools to work with the whole body: mobilizing joints, and stretching and releasing muscles, ligaments and fascia to help restore movement and function.

Techniques Julia may use

Articular mobilization, cranial osteopathy (CST), muscle energy techniques (MET), myofascial and trigger point release, soft-tissue techniques, moving and static cupping, and Gua Sha. Julia combines these differently for each person and each visit.

The goal is to restore proper function and structural integrity, which often brings relief from symptoms.

What is osteopathy?

Osteopathy is a gentle, non-invasive, hands-on therapy. It aims for pain-free movement and better balance throughout the body. A manual osteopath assesses and treats restrictions in the musculoskeletal system to relieve pain and restore joint movement.

Osteopathic philosophy holds that the body's structure and function are connected, so even a small restriction in one place can affect how the whole body works. Treatment mobilizes and strengthens bones, muscles, fascia and joints, and aims to support the nervous, circulatory and lymphatic systems.
