Is a manual osteopathy appointment right for you?
People bring Julia concerns such as recurring low back discomfort, stiffness and strain related to work, driving or activity. Your experience and medical history guide the visit. If you are unsure whether the clinic is a fit, contact Julia before requesting an appointment.
Manual osteopathy focuses on assessing movement and working with muscles, joints and connective tissue. It does not provide a medical diagnosis or replace medical care. Results vary; an appointment is not a promise of pain relief.
What happens at your first visit?
Your initial appointment is 60 minutes. Julia asks about your history, symptoms, activities and goals, then assesses posture and movement with hands-on assessment. She explains her findings, discusses a plan with you and begins treatment with the time remaining.
Wear comfortable, stretchy clothing and bring any information you would like Julia to consider. Tell her about previous injuries, surgery and other care you are receiving.
How Julia approaches back discomfort
Julia considers how the back, pelvis, hips and the rest of the body move together. Depending on the assessment and your comfort, a visit may include joint mobilization, soft-tissue work or myofascial release. She explains the proposed approach and can adjust the pressure or stop a technique at your request.

What if I have sciatica or a diagnosis?
Tell Julia about any diagnosis and recommendations from your medical provider before treatment. The clinic lists low back pain and sciatica among the concerns people bring, but suitability must be discussed individually. Julia does not diagnose sciatica. For a diagnosis or urgent concerns, seek medical care.
How many appointments will I need?
There is no fixed number for everyone. Julia discusses a proposed plan after the assessment and reviews it with you as care progresses. You can ask about the goals of treatment and your options before deciding on another visit.
